bilateral blepharospasm
Bilateral Blepharospasm refers to “regular” blepharospasm where both eyelids are affected, whereas unilateral blepharospasm deals with just one eyelid. The experience is the same.
It is a chronic, unremitting, forcible closure of the eyelid. It is also a neurological disfunction coming from the motor control center of the brain called the basal ganglia.
I was diagnosed with blepharospasm over 20 years ago. I tried injections to my eyelids because, after two years of excessively blinking, I wanted relief. What I received was some relief along with a change in my smile. After two treatments, I discontinued it and later found a nutritional program that supported my body and helped to improve the quality of my life. After six months, my symptoms were dramatically alleviated and I was no longer blinking excessively. This nutritional food has the ability to penetrate the brain’s membrane and can then stop the misfiring of neurons in the basal ganglia, which I believe is related to the cause of movement disorders.
